Free-lance curator, festival scout, film journalist; born 1964 in Berlin
(West), studied Political Sciences at the Freie Universität Berlin.
1996 – 2005 programme director of the Berlin art film cinema “Berliner
Filmkunsthaus Babylon”. Consulting and curating several film
festivals. Had also been curating and scouting for several other
festivals (“Skena Up” student’s film and theatre festival, Prishtina,
“dokumentArt”, Neubrandenburg, “goEast”, Wiesbaden, Zagreb
International Film Festival, Prishtina Film Festival, Turkish Film Week
Berlin). From 2011 – 2014 director of the East-West co-production
market “connecting cottbus”. From 2005 - 2022, Buder was a
consultant of the Forum section of the Berlin Film Festival. Since
1996 , he is involved in the FilmFestival Cottbus in various positions.
Currently:
Since 2013 Programme director of the FilmFestival
Cottbus.
Since 2010, he programmes the competition section for
European film and Balkan cinema at the Cinedays film festival in Skopje,
Northern Macedonia
Since 2021, programme director of the Jewish Film
Festival Berlin and Brandenburg
Works also as a moderator for several
institutions and film journalist.
